SPI Supplies Brand Boron Carbide TEM Test Specimen on 3.05 mm Copper Grid
The newly released SPI Boron Carbide Specimen consists of boron carbide particles dispersed on a carbon supported copper grid, 200 mesh, and as is clear from the micrograph above, it forms an easy-to-use test specimen for determining and calibrating the energy resolution of wavelength dispersive or windowless energy dispersive x-ray spectrometers interfaced to a TEM. The values for the emission peaks for B and C are, respectively, 0.185 and 0.282 KeV respectively.
Note: The SPI product was fashioned from the boron carbon test specimen found at one time, in the consumables of what was once Polaron Equipment Ltd. Indeed, we believe this new SPI boron carbide specimen would be indistinguishable from the original Polaron made product.
