The product is used primarily for TEM methods on metals, ceramics, and other surfaces that would remain inert in an acetone environment since acetone is used to soften and/or dissolve the tape prior to use. Use thick tape [0.005" (125 µm)] for rough surfaces and for removing larger loose debris particles clinging to the surface. Use thin tape (22 µm)] for fine, irregular surfaces.
