The most common of the Tempshield Cryo-Gloves is the water resistant version which can be used in a wide range of applications in the ultra-cold. These gloves are not just for use when working with liquid nitrogen. But since a very large number of people work with liquid nitrogen, many of them rely on these particular gloves for protection against the ultra-cold of liquid nitrogen.
For liquid nitrogen applications, if the liquid was to penetrate the seam and because it is a boiling liquid, there would be minimal penetration.
Please note: none of the Cryo-Gloves products are designed to be immersed in liquid nitrogen or any other liquid, cryogenic or not.
Mid-Arm (MA):
The insulated cuff provides protection from the ultra-cold halfway up the forearm.
Large (European 10)
Not recommended for liquid oxygen use:
While liquid nitrogen would be a boiling liquid and therefore, not result in much penetration into the glove's insulation layer (or the seams), for liquid oxygen, where the vapor pressure is much lower, the liquid would be much more likely to penetrate right through to the hand, and this is course would be quite undesirable. But if one absolutely had no alternatives (and that seems to be the case in many instances), then the waterproof models should be used.
