Samples Requiring "No Prep" Procedures for TEM
For those minority of samples that require no preparation
There are many types of samples that are either "low prep" or "no prep" in
terms of having to spend a lot of time with sample preparation. Some
examples would be virus samples, which can be disperse on a grid and
negatively stained with PTA.
Other examples could be inorganic powders (e.g. pigments) that need only to
be suspended in a liquid and dispersed on a coated TEM grid.
Specifications: We would provide 8-10 micrographs per sample at appropriate
magnifications (or at levels agreed to at the commencement of the work),
which would be presented in the form of 8x10" photographic enlargements from
the original TEM negatives.
